Emergency Mission Specialized Mental Health Activity Manager X/ H/F

Description de la mission

All countries where the emergency desk opens activities, which requires an urgent response. On call, the emergency Mental Health Activity Manager should be available within 24 hours for rapid and short (maximum 3 months) interventions. He/she is part of a core group of ops, medicals, para-medicals, logisticians and admins profiles responsible for responding, amongst others, to: 
 
Epidemic outbreaks 
Exploratory missions 
Nutritional crises 
Displaced populations and/or refugees’ camps 
Armed conflicts 
Natural disasters 
 

Together with the medical team participating in the definition of emergency response strategies by assessing needs according to the evolution of the emergency context. 
Defining indicators in order to monitor the response activities. 
Coordinate the implementation of MHPSS strategies and activities in accordance with MSF MHPSS and evidence based guidelines as well as the identified needs and objectives of the project 
Train and supervise locally hired staff and if needed staff from other organizations collaborating to implement the MHPSS activities.  
Contribute to the continuous improvement of MHPSS tools and documentation by identifying needs, updating materials, and enhancing technical resources, both clinical and programmatic. 
Participating in the HR processes for staff recruitment in order to ensure having the appropriate team in terms of size, capabilities and skills 
To participate to the medical reports, based on adequately compiled information on MHPSS activities 

Responsabilités

To fulfill its mission of assisting victims of conflicts, epidemics, or natural disasters, MSF-Switzerland has created an emergency team composed of experienced professionals capable of evaluating situations and initiating and coordinating missions. 
The Emergency Mission Specialized Mental Health Activity Manager reports to the emergency coordinators at field level, the coordination team in the capital, and ultimately to the Emergency Desk at headquarters in Geneva. 
The candidate is expected to 
Work in all contexts defined by the Emergency Desk 
Support regular projects on a short-term basis when needed 
Work remotely on specific tasks as required 

Votre profil

Master’s degree in clinical psychology or qualification as a psychiatrist (mandatory) 
At least 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Activity Manager (MHAM) with MSF (mandatory), including in emergency contexts 
Significant experience in emergency projects with MSF (mandatory) 
Experience in preparing and facilitating training sessions, workshops, and supervisions (Training of Trainers is desirable) 
Experience managing group activities and strong listening skills 
 
Competencies

Languages 
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) – mandatory 
Good command of French, Spanish, or Arabic – strong asset 
 
Terms of Employment  
Availability: Minimum of 12 months 
Location: Primarily in intervention countries (including high-insecurity contexts); based in country of residence between missions 
Mobility: Required in MSF projects as needed 
Contract type: Fixed-term – Full-time 
Contract duration: 12 months 
Salary: According to MSF international salary grid and based on official residence 
Medical insurance: 100% covered under MSF international package
